Student Assistant for Electronic Health Record Databases (f/m/d)

The position is temporary and part-time (8 hours / week).

The DACS (Data Analytics and Computational Statistics) group is currently starting a new project in the realm of predicting the risk of developing colon cancer in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The planned study is at the intersection of computer science, data science, and medicine. By combining different data sources, such as electronic health records, genomic data as well laboratory results, we aim to develop a score that risk-stratifies IBD-patients. The goal is to create a score, which is easily usable for clinicians and available to the medical community through a mobile app. In doing so, the project will make an important contribution to the translation of digital health innovations into practice.

Your Role

  *   Support in developing the score leveraging the information found in various data types in the Mount Sinai Data Warehouse
  *   Assistance in data analysis and visualization

Your Qualifications

  *   Bachelor or Master student, ideally with a keen interest in digital health
  *   Advanced working experiences with databases
  *   Profound knowledge in SQL, Python and R
  *   Demonstrated ability to work in teams
  *   Structured and efficient way of working & communicating
