Mainframe-Computer sind selten geworden, haben aber immer noch ihren Sinn und zwar z.B. bei der Verarbeitung von Mengen hochkritischer Datenbanktransaktionen mit höchster Verfügbarkeit. Banken sind ein typisches Umfeld für sowas.
