Responsibilities
Duties primarily include teaching and research. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
Specific Duties
The goal of the successful candidate is to design signal processing and machine learning algorithms to analyze and evaluate existing tools for processing social signals in face-to-face (F2F) situations for their performance in immersive virtual group meetings.
This project is part of the interdisciplinary research group "Computational Human Dynamics – Multimodal Social Signal Processing of Dyadic and Group Interactions”, which integrates fundamental science, innovative methods, and applications in psychology and computer science.
This Cross-Disciplinary Lab (CDL) is funded by the central funds of the University of Excellence and is running in the House of Computing and Data Science (HCDS). All involved researchers will actively contribute to the group, e.g. via research colloquia, presentations, and interactive workshops.
The position includes 4 LVS teaching hours.
Requirements
A university degree in a relevant field.
A degree in Computer Science is perferred. Very good knowledge of and experience with social signal processing and machine learning is required, preferrably applied to speech emotion recognition. Fluent English, spoken and written, and good communication skills are mandatory. Knowledge of German is helpful; we expect the willingness to learn German for non-native German speakers. The candidates should bring a strong interest to work in highly interdisciplinary topics and should be team-oriented.
