Dear everyone,

The Institute of Artificial Intelligence at the Leibniz University Hannover (Germany) invites applications for the position of a Doctoral Researcher (m/f/d) within the field of Green Automated Machine Learning (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting at the earliest possible date. The position is initially limited until 28.02.2026 with the possibility of extension.

Our research team at Leibniz University Hannover focuses on automated machine learning data science, and reinforcement learning. We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student to join us. You will have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge research topics, focusing on the development of novel approaches to automated deep learning aiming for energy-efficient architectures, dubbed Green Automated Machine Learning. In addition to conducting innovative research, you will also engage in scientific exchange and active cooperation with related research groups, including presenting research results in workshops, conferences, and journals. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to contribute to open-source projects, thereby promoting the broader dissemination of research findings and advancing the field of sustainable AI. We are looking for candidates with a passion for sustainability and innovation. Your Profile

*	completed academic degree (Master) in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, statistics, or related disciplines
*	Solid understanding of and hands-on experience with machine learning and deep learning
*	Advanced programming skills in Python, preferable familiarity with PyTorch
*	Solid skills in scientific writing (e.g. shown by an excellent master thesis) are expected
*	Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written, including the ability to write scientific texts (German beneficial)
*	Motivation to work independently and in an international team
