The classification in the Engineer career path is made according to your education (minimum requirement is a relevant vocational training that includes 
basic knowledge of electronic data processing and programming). The position is initially limited to 2 years with the option of prolongation.

Your tasks:

Depending on your qualification you’ll support the development of research prototypes in our projects
This includes the following tasks:

    Participation in the design of the (sub-)component to be implemented
    Development and testing of the created components
    Creation of documentation for different target groups (users/developers)
    Preparation and execution of presentations

Your qualifications:

Very good knowledge of one of the following work areas and good knowledge of at least one other work area:
Frontend Development
Experience with modern JavaScript/ES frameworks and general web technologies (HTML5)
Strong knowledge of common UI/UX methods as well as experience with responsive design
Experience working with build and asset pipelines (e.g. Webpack)
Backend-Development
Very good knowledge in software development with several of the following programming languages: JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Java or PHP (PHP7 preferred)
Knowledge in the design/use of databases (MySQL/MongoDB,...)
Experience in working with Linux systems (virtual machines, command line operation)
Basic knowledge of DevOps is desirable
Machine Learning and Data-Science Software-Development
Very good knowledge in Python development with Machine Learning/Deep Learning frameworks (scikit-learn, numpy, pytorch, tensorflow).
Good knowledge in Data Science frameworks and visualizations (pandas, scipy)Machine Learning/Deep Learning algorithms and frameworks, Python, Jupyter Notebook, ETL, ...
