Das Fachgebiet 37 des Robert Koch-Instituts ist für die Surveillance von Antibiotika-Resistenz und Antibiotika-Verbrauch und von nosokomialen Infektionen sowie entsprechenden Ausbrüchen zuständig. Robert Koch Institute's Unit 37 is responsible for surveillance of antibiotic resistance and consumption and nosocomial infections as well as related outbreaks. We are searching for students to support the unit's international projects in the area of data management and analysis. Student position(s) to support the 'Unit of Nosocomial Infection and Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance and Consumption' in the area of data management and analysis 20.09.2021
The international study team in the Unit of Nosocomial Infection and Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance and Consumption at Robert Koch Institute is seeking student position candidates to support their projects in the area of research/surveillance data management and analysis. Ongoing international research collaborations include the following among others:
* African Network for improved Diagnostics, Epidemiology and Management of Common Infectious Agents: An infectious disease surveillance network in Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Germany (https://www.andemia.org/)
* Antimicrobial Resistance Global Surveillance: Research and technical exchange with selected countries in the area of Antimicrobial Resistance (https://ghpp.de/en/projects/argos/)
* CORONA Global: An African-European collaboration to assess transmission of SARS-CoV-2 among health care workers
* Nigerian Centre for Disease Control Capacity Development for Preparedness and Response for Infectious Diseases: A sub-project of a collaboration to support national implementation of antimicrobial resistance surveillance and diagnostic stewardship (https://ghpp.de/en/projects/nicade/)
Host institution: Unit on Nosocomial Infections and Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance and Consumption, Robert Koch Institute, Berlin, Germany
Time period: Start date soon as possible till end of 2022
Level: Student position (HiWi)
Tasks: Data management of surveillance or research data (e.g. importing data, recoding and reshaping as necessary, performing a range of quality checks), descriptive analyses, univariate/multivariate regression analyses depending on candidate's experience
Educational background: At least bachelors degree in data science, statistics, epidemiology, psychology or related field with experience in data management experience
Statistical programme proficiency: At least intermediate proficiency in R
Language: German or English; French would also desirable but not necessary
