We are offering a master thesis (or 6x month internship) in „Signal
processing for photoplethysmography (PPG) measurements in wearable devices
“.
The analysis of PPG signals allows for a detailed assessment of the
physiological state of a patient. However, motion artifacts perturb the
signal and often cause flawed analysis results. Your main job will lie in
the development and deployment of computationally lightweight algorithms
for
(i)	motion correction of PPG signals using accelerometer data and
(ii)	extraction of the R-R intervals from the corrected PPG signals.
At the end of your thesis, both algorithms shall be running on a wrist
worn device in real time, improving the treatment of patients with various
health conditions throughout Europe.

You are:
-	A motivated master student in the field of data science, computer
science (or similar) with beyond-average grades and experience in sensor
data processing and analysis.
-	A self-reliant developer who is not afraid to tackle complex tasks.
-	Highly experienced in Python, C++ (necessary) and Java, JavaScript
(beneficial).

wearable sensor devices along with real-time analytics for digital health.
-	Consulting in professional algorithm design, development and deployment
to guide you in your research endeavour.
-	Part time employment (10 or 15 hours per week) during your thesis and
the possibility of full-time employment after the thesis.
