Android Lead Developer

( OFFTIME ) is a young post-tech startup, based in Berlin. Our
revolutionary services enable people to customize their connectivity,
unplug easily, and find an enriching balance between their on/off-line
lives.

We are seeking a passionate Android Lead Developer that will build and
enhance with us ( OFFTIME ) for Android mobile devices as well as other
Android-driven platforms and systems.

The role and responsibilities:
You will be diving into the very depths of Android. In the beginning, your
primary focus will be back end performance optimization of our current
version, transferring whole parts of the application into libraries, and
front-end UI/UX improvements in collaboration with our design team. During
the second stage you’ll expand the application together with our product
team, adding new features, and enhancing existing ones. You’ll also be
extending to other Android-driven platforms and systems in our future
world of the ‘Internet of Things’. Talking to our users, hearing their
feedback, and understanding their needs will be crucial during your dive
breaks. And as our team grows, you’ll grow with it and lead our Android
development team.

Requirements:
You have solid programming experiences in Java.
You already have an awesome Android app available in Google Play.
You have a solid understanding of Android operating system fundamentals
such as the activity lifecycle, tasks, processes, inter-process
communication, multi-threading, race conditions and deadlocks.
You have a good interest in bending android.widget.*, notifications,
hardware buttons and other shortcuts.
You’re familiar with industry standard design patterns for common situations
You’re familiar with CVS (we’re using Git) and integration tools/processes
like TDD, CI, Gradle, etc.
You take responsibility for your own projects, and have a positive ‘can
do’ attitude.
Last but not least: you’re happy to go out, talk to people and listen to
their feedback
