I agree about 918 being a prerequisite.  It'll allow for refactoring.

I'll try to find some time to see if I can provide some patches.  If you move
to git I can clone repository and play around and give the option for a pull
back into your master.

As for Maven and Ivy / Gradle, I'll stay out of that discussion.  The
discussion is tiring and depends a lot on opinions and how passionate people
are about certain technologies.
