The benefit of moving to Maven is the build lifecycle and the ability to easily
distribute binaries and sources to artifact repositories (such as maven
central) where software developers can easily access libraries, source,
javadocs, etc. simply by including a small snippet of XML in their POM (project
object model) files.

This would make JacORB widely and more easily available to users and potential
users.
