Liebe Mitglieder des Internationalen Clubs,

Es gibt nun noch eine weitere Veranstaltung im Januar, die wir anbieten:
Eine Backstage-Führung in Englischer Sprache durch die Volksbühne am
Donnerstag, den 21.1.2016 um 14 Uhr.

Die Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz ist eines der bekanntesten Theater
Deutschlands und ein Urgestein der Berliner Theaterszene, das im Kalten
Krieg eine wichtige Vermittler-Rolle zwischen Ost und West gespielt hat.
Seit 1992 wirkt Frank Castorf als Intendant, der sein Amt 2017 allerdings
an den belgischen Kurator Chris Dercon abtreten wird. In Folge der
Übergabe wird das komplette Haus umstrukturiert werden. In diesem Jahr
besteht also die letzte Chance, die Volksbühne noch einmal so zu erleben,
wie sie jahrelang Tradition war.

Wir werden während der Tour einen Einblick hinter die Kulissen der
Volskbühne erhalten, tolle Bühnenbild-Konstruktionen und technische
Spielereien und den Kostüm-Fundus sehen.

Die Führung dauert ca eine Stunde und kostet Mitglieder wie auch
Nicht-Mitglieder drei Euro.
Bitte schreibt mir so schnell wie möglich eine Nachricht, wenn Ihr
Interesse an der Teilnahme habt, am besten bis Mittwoch, 13. Jan.
Gerne können wir uns im Anschluss an die Führung noch bei einem Kaffee
über das Gesehene austauschen.

Dear members of the International Club,

There is an other event available now in January 2016: a guided
backstage-tour in English language through the Berliner Volksbühne on
Thursday, Jan 21st at 2 pm.

The Volksbühne is one of the most-renowned theatres in Germany and a place
with long tradition in Berlin's theatre scene. It played an essential role
in bringing together artists from the East and the West during the Cold
War and has been ruled by director Frank Castorf now for almost 23 years.
However, Castorf will be replaced by the Belgian Curator Chris Dercon in
2017, a circumstance which will bring fundamental changes to the theatre.
Consequently, this year is the last chance to experience the Volksbühne as
the theatre that it has been for decades.
During our tour we will have access to the backstage area and will get to
see some interesting stage settings, technical devices and costumes.

If you are interested in joining, please contact me as fast as possible
until Wed Jan 13.
Tickets cost 3 Euros for both members and non-members.
The tour will last approximately an hour and if you want, we can grab a
coffee together afterwards in order to exchange our experiences.
