Dr. Eva-Jasmin Freyschmidt, Helmholtz Association
Life Sciences: PhD - Postdoc - Research Manager

A career in research management is one of the most popular options chosen by junior researchers who are considering a career change. Questions that arise when planning such a move are: Which kinds of qualifications are required in this field? Which employers and positions should be considered, and what are the pros and cons of research and research management? Eva-Jasmin Freyschmidt is Executive Assistant to the President of the Helmholtz Association. She will talk about her own professional career and discuss further career options for natural and life scientists in research management and beyond.
 
Eva-Jasmin Freyschmidt obtained her doctorate at the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg before she went abroad for eight years to work both as a postdoc and an instructor at the Harvard Medical School at Boston Children’s Hospital, USA. Back in Germany, she took up her current position at the Helmholtz Association in 2011.
