Was passiert dabei mit eis-VM?

Wird die heruntergefahren, "von außen" gebackuped und dann wieder 
gestartet/gebootet?

Passiert das bei jedem Backup?

Was steht in /var/log/nmbd und /var/log/smbd zu diesem Zeitpunkt?

Kannst du in /var/lib/systemd/system/samba.service in der Service-Sektion 
bitte mal

ExecStartPre=/bin/sleep 30

ergänzen und dann schauen wir mal, ob das Problem weiterhin auftaucht.
