dd funktioniert sowohl eingehangen als auch nicht eingehangen.

Hab eben ein debian-ISO probiert. So sieht es aus:

Festplatte /dev/sdd: 7,47 GiB, 8019509248 Bytes, 15663104 Sektoren
Festplattenmodell: ATTACHE OPTIMA
Einheiten: Sektoren von 1 * 512 = 512 Bytes
Sektorgröße (logisch/physikalisch): 512 Bytes / 512 Bytes
E/A-Größe (minimal/optimal): 512 Bytes / 512 Bytes
Festplattenbezeichnungstyp: dos
Festplattenbezeichner: 0x0d28081a
