Das hätte ich auch so erwartet - die lilo.conf hast du ja auch schon
gepostet.

Es wird für die gesamte Platte sda kein by-id-Link gebildet.

Hast du mal die Möglichkeit, ein Livesystem wie Knoppix oder systemrescuecd
zu starten und dann dort

ls -l /dev/disk/by-id
ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid
fdisk -l

zu posten.
