"Cannot allocate memory" means there is not enough free RAM for xz
to compress the package. "free -m" tells you the amount of free
memory ("buffers/cache" row). Run "top" and type 'shift+m' to see
what programs consume memory (end with 'q') and temporarily stop
some of them.
