danke für Deine Antwort. So etwa klappt das auch:

mount /dev/vda3 /mnt
mount /dev/vda1 /boot

dann aber

lilo -C /mnt/etc/lilo.conf

Ergebnis:

Warning: /proc/partitions references Experimental major device 252.
(3x wiederholung)
Addes eis *
Addes oldeis
4 warnings were issued

BTW: ich musste in lilo.conf noch unter bios... schreiben max-partitions=7, sonst gings gar nicht...

wenn ich dann boote kommt wieder kernel panic, weil:

VFS: cannot open root device "fc03" or unknown-block(252,3) =vda3
...
Please append a correct "root="; here are the available partitions:
fd00...     vda driver: virtio_blk  vda1 vda2 vda3

gibts/gabs ein ähnliches Problem. Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe, ist die device-nummer in /proc/partitions 252 (ist tats. auch so), sollte aber eigentlich 254(,3) sein (damit lilo beim botten das findet). lilo schreibt aber in den MBR 252(,3). 

Fachlich bin ich zwar schon länger etwas überfordert, bin aber natürlich um einen Rat sehr dankbar!
