PIL hat so seine Eigenarten, PIL laesst sich auch nicht mit 
easy_install installieren. Da hilft nur Handarbeit runterladen
und mit python setup.py build, spython setup.py install, oder mit 
pip install PIL.

Die source liegt in einem Paket 'imaging'

probiere es aus

python

und dann

import PIL

mit
quit()

kommst Du aus der python shell raus

PIL und imaging sind identisch, vielleicht war es doch keine so gute 
Idee das Paket python-imaging zu nennen. python-imaging ist PIL
