Liquid Democracy e.V. is looking for a student assistant SysAdmin

We are a non-partisan, non-profit organisation based in Berlin. We like to
describe ourselves as a think & do tank. Since our founding in 2009, we
are working on developing innovative techniques and methods to promote
citizen participation. The core of our work revolves around the
development of Adhocracy, a free software and digital participation
framework providing users with various civic participation tools.

You will work with our development team, by helping our DevOps maintain
our infrastructure.

// About the Job

You will work as a linux system administrator. You will maintain up to 5
physical servers running many different installations of our open source
software in containers. You will be asked to assist the backend developers
with the release process and be also responsible for running some
infrastructure services.

Our current setup includes the following:
* Linux (Ubuntu/Debain), LXC, Postfix, Nginx, Varnish
* Salt (configuration management system)
* Etherpad, DokuWiki, Prosody, Radicale, Piwik, Mailman, Wagtail
* Git with Github
* Gunicorn, Python 3, JavaScript

// Your Profile

You have practical experience with administration of Linux systems. You
know your ways around the unix shell. You enjoy automating processes.
Experience in python or shell scripting is definitly a big plus. You are
looking for a student job in Berlin with 15 to 20 hours a week.

Wir sind ein überparteilicher gemeinnütziger Verein mit Sitz in Berlin.
Seit unserer Gründung 2009 arbeiten wir an neuartigen Konzepten und
Methoden zur digitalen Bürgerbeteiligung. Der Kern unserer Arbeit besteht
in der Entwicklung der freien Beteiligungs-Software Adhocracy. Diese
bietet je nach Erfordernissen der Nutzer*innen und je nach Art der
Beteiligung verschiedene Funktionen an, um leicht zugängliche
Online-Partizipation zu ermöglichen.
Du wirst Teil unseres Entwicklungsteams durch deine Unterstützung der
DevOps beim Betrieb unserer Infrastruktur.

Du arbeitest als Linux System Administrator*in. Deine Aufgaben umfassen
die Verwaltung von fünf Root-Servern mit zahlreichen Installationen unser
Open-Source-Software in virtuellen Maschinen. Du hilfst unseren
Backend-Entwickler*innen beim Release der Software und übernimmst
Verantwortung für den Betrieb von Infrastrukturdiensten.

Du hast Kenntnisse in der Administration von Linux-Rechnern. Du bist
erfahren im Umgang mit der UNIX- Shell. Die Automatisierung von
Arbeitsprozessen ist dir eine Herzensangelegenheit. Kenntnisse in der
Programmierung von Skripten mit Python oder Shell sind erwünscht. Du
suchst eine Studienstelle in Berlin im Umfang von 15 bis 20 Wochenstunden.
