Dr. Hui Yang, Associate Professor in the Harold and Inge Marcus Department
of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at The Pennsylvania State
University, would like to recruit two PhD students starting from Spring
2016. Please find details below. The lab's research interests are as
follows:

Sensor-based modeling and analysis of complex systems for process
monitoring/control, system diagnostics/prognostics, quality improvement,
and performance optimization, with special focus on nonlinear stochastic
dynamics, and the resulting chaotic, recurrence, multifractal,
self-organizing,long-range dependence behaviors:
1. Complex systems monitoring, modeling and control
2. Healthcare informatics and signal processing
3. Big data analytics for large-scale complex systems
4. Nonlinear dynamic and chaos
5. Computer simulation and optimization
6. Quality engineering and applied statistics

Research assistantship (full scholarship) will be generally offered to
high profile students who have demonstrated research capabilities through
their masters study. The PhD applicants are expected to have strong
mathematical and programming background, with majors in Engineering,
Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics. Any interested candidates are
encouraged to contact Dr. Hui Yang (yanghui at gmail.com).

The Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing
Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University is consistently ranked
among the top IE programs in the US, and continues to be a leading
