2 positions for student research assistants (Studentische Hilfskräfte)
in Cognitive Science and the Psychology of Reasoning and Decision Making.

The Center for Adaptive Behavior and Cognition (ABC) at the Max Planck
Institute for Human Development in Berlin, under the direction of Gerd
Gigerenzer, is seeking applicants from talented and motivated university
students to work with researchers at ABC.

You are:

-- Interested in conducting research into the psychology of human
cognition, problem solving and decision making.
-- Interested in mathematical modeling (e.g., simulations in MATLAB or
R) or programming (VB, C++, C#, Java).
-- Motivated to contribute your ideas and efforts to a collaborative
research project.

We offer:

-- Excellent learning opportunities (empirical research, programming
virtual environ-ments and simulations, cognitive modeling, statistical
data analysis, etc.).
-- Long-term perspective (spanning from 6 months to multiple years) in
case you are interested in pursuing a diploma/Masters thesis, PhD
degree, or are considering pursuing a research career.
-- Excellent working conditions (hourly salary, flexible working-hours,
friendly colleagues and well-equipped working environment).

For detailed information about our research group and goals please visit
    http://www.mpib-berlin.mpg.de/en/forschung/ABC/

The working language of the center is English. To fill this position you
must be enrolled in a German university. You can expect a salary
commensurable to research assistant positions at universities,
professional training and instruction in behavioral research methods,
and strong recommendation letters for your future career.

This is also an excellent opportunity to carry out a thesis project (for
your Master or diploma degree), to find out whether you could or would
want to pursue a PhD degree in the behavioral sciences, and for any
bright and investigative mind considering pursuing an academic career in
the future.
