Thanks very much for all of your replies. While the significant majority 
are now using either JDK 7 or 8, even though JDK 6 is  end-of-life (in 
fact JDK 7 goes end-of-life in April) there are still several users on 
JDK 6. Therefore the current plan is to release the next version with 
JDK 6 compatibility. We will revisit this at a later date, with a 
possible view to upgrading to a newer JDK baseline.
