[jacorb-developer] How to handle serialization changes across version?

I've just run into an interesting problem. In JDK 7, Throwable now sports a new field: suppressedExceptions. When I receive a serialized throwable (an error reply) in a JDK 1.6 client from a JDK 1.7 server, I get a serialization error in my ORB - which is not Jacorb (and switching would be extremely problematic). How does Jacorb handle this case?
